Bahamas Real Estate Association
The Bahamas Real Estate Association (BREA) was formed in 1959 to regulate the real estate business in the Bahamas. And had as one of its objective the uniting Real Estate Brokers under one umbrella of the highest standard of conduct in the transaction of Real Estate in the Bahamas as expressed in their code of Ethics.
Its dream was realized in 1995 when the Bahamas Government passed the Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons Act-1995. Which granted BREA the authority to license, register and regulate all persons selling Real Estate in the Bahamas.
And today, all Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons must adhere to rigid educational and performance standards before becoming licensed as well as have the Bahamian designation BRI.
BREA also have bi-lateral agreements with other International Real Estate Associations including the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and its members also hold International designations in these organizations.

The Bahamas Real Estate Association (BREA) now have more than 700 licensed Brokers and Salespersons who are required to not only be proficient in real estate and local knowledge but also the International Persons Land Holding Act-1993 allowing them to make it easy for anybody to purchase property in the Bahamas.
